Common questions.
Is my data really private?
Yes. Everything is processed and stored on your device. We don't have servers that receive your data. We literally cannot see your memories, even if we wanted to. This is by design.
What if I lose my phone?
Stey includes a backup feature that lets you export your data to your own storage (iCloud, external drive, etc.). We recommend regular backups. Since we don't store your data, we can't recover it for you.
How accurate is the transcription?
We use Whisper, the same AI that powers many professional transcription services. It's highly accurate for clear speech and improves with each update. You can always edit transcriptions manually.
Can I share my memories with family?
Yes. You can export your memories in various formats to share with loved ones. In the future, we're building features for designated legacy contacts who can receive your memories.
Is there a subscription fee?
Stey is free to download and use. We believe everyone should be able to preserve their legacy regardless of budget. Premium features may be added in the future.
What devices does it work on?
Currently iOS (iPhone). Android is coming soon. The app requires a relatively modern device for on-device AI processing.
